Small Fans Print, Chirimen Crepe, Vintage Kimono Silk Pieces from Japan, 14" x 54" # ZP-27

The background is a brownish purply mauvy color, reminiscent of clay, sweet potatoes, redwoods, with tiny speckles making the pebbly crepe texture seem even more pebbly. The small Japanese fans are partially open, clustered tightly, in a lighter peachier clay color. You may like the back more; the fan details and the speckles are gone and it looks like watercolor-created shapes floating on the darker clay color. That's the last two photos. Classic, fabulous chirimen with crepey texture, a dry hand and no shine. Thin and mid-lightweight silk with a bit of body and a bit of drape.  Kimono silk, probably from the 1990's, in perfect condition. It can be hard to find such great old Chirimen kimono silk in such good condition. Sold per 14" x 54" piece. 100% Silk. Japan.
