Hidden Red on Black, Sleek Ikat or Print Silk from Japan By the Yard, #148

The black is soooo prominent that it nearly hides the bright red design. The closer you get, the more visible the red is, but it's never anywhere near strong or typical.  The first 5 photos are a pretty good depiction of how well the black hides the red. The last 5 photos are adjusted so that you can better see the design. This silk is elegant, thin and light, shiny and sleek on both sides. It's finely woven, a bit crisp, with slight body. Both sides are just the same, and we were told it's an ikat.  But...it seems so perfect and so smooth, and the bolt is 26 yards, so we're not sure it's not a print. 19.5" repeat.  14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the never-used, excellent condition bolt. Age unknown.  100% Silk. Japan.
