Two Trees, Two Mountains Black-Slubbed Mulberry Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard #328
The pinkish purple is not bright but rather dark, especially with all the black slubs in the weave. The little pair of trees is done with jacquard - black silk threads, spaced from 2" to 12" away from each other and alternate facing up or down, through the bolt. The mountains are are done with light pink embroidery and show up more or less depending on the lighting. They're spaced variably as well, and they appear usually 3 times in each yard. This silk is thin and light, textured, a bit drapey, with no sheen and no body. The color is consistent; the camera gets confused by the texture but there are no gray or faded areas in the purple. 14" wide and sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one piece from the never-used, excellent condition vintage bolt. 100% Silk from Nishijin Japan, a center of fine kimono silk weaving for centuries.
