Whole Bolt of Solid Off-White Vintage Japanese Kimono Lining? Silk, 10-ish Yards Still Folded #216
Off-white, Natural White, not bright white. It's light, silky-smooth, supple, lustrous, with a bit of sheen, very soft, not completely opaque, similar to what we'd call habotai, but nicer quality than typical, non-Japanese habotai. The whole bundle weighs about 8.6 ounces, and it's folded to about 7" x 14" wide. We don't want to completely unfold it; the long ago folding of this beautiful silk seems sacred; but in counting the layers, maybe missing one or two, we think it's around 10 yards. Clearly never used, there are no labels, unknown age. Possibly meant for kimono linings? If you've seen our ButtonBird hummingbird business cards, the color is the same, which is often known as Natural White. We haven't opened it totally but it looks in excellent or possibly perfect condition. 100% Silk. Vintage but never used. Japan. Order "1" for the bolt.
