Vintage chirimen crepe silk with Engawa gardens from Japan, a traditional type of lattice 'porch' that blends the indoors with stunning outdoor gardens. All the colors are muted to give the silk an antique, almost blurry look, and the base silk is a warm sepia-tan. Mid-light weight, drapey, supple, quite pebbly-surfaced chirimen crepe, with no shine at all and a dry matte finish; classic vintage chirimen that we love. The back barely shows the print. 29" repeat.  Excellent condition vintage silk pieces from a dis-assembled kimono. 100% Silk. Japan.
