Hexagons/Flowers Black/Gray/Green/Gold/Red Ikat Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard #317
This thin, smooth, light, crisp, soft silk is probably from the 1960's-70's and is skillfully woven; lining up the intricate details seems nearly impossible. It's very similar to Oshima Pongee and every bit as beautiful in our opinion. Each thread is pre-dyed to create the intricate ikat design once woven. This one is crisp, almost bouncy, with body and no drape. It probably took months to dye and weave one bolt; there are so many processes to assure its beauty. A true ikat, both sides are the same. 14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours from the never-used, beautiful condition bolt. 100% Silk. Japan.
If you're first to order this silk and need 4 or more yards, you'll also get the silk-and-vinyl protective sheet it came with, in the last photo.
