Silvery Teal Gleaming Shibori Satin Vintage Kimono Silk Piece, 14" x 44" #7317

Liquid-drape, flowy charmeuse-like satin that is incredibly supple and soft, this vintage kimono silk is stunning and elegant. The shibori squares are in lime, tangerine, white, and yellow, and are lined up in rows, about an inch apart. The background is paastel silvery blue-green, sometimes iridescent powder blue, and the base jacquard is made up of white dots creating traditional Japanese wave patterns.  The back is less colorful, matte finish; the shibori squares show just a little. This piece was formerly part of a kimono, probably pre-1970's. 100% Silk. Japan.
