Green Slubby Vintage Kimono Silk, Still-Basted Ariaihari 12.5-yard BOLT from Japan #414

Avocado green, blending to areas that are darker and more blue, for drama when the kimono was worn. All yarn dyed, clearly hand woven using various thicknesses of silk for a beautiful earthy, slubby texture.  Both sides are the same. This silk is lightweight, thin, fine, supple, flowy, almost drapey, extremely soft, with no shine.  100% Silk.  14" wide Araihari still-basted bolt, from Japan. 

Araihari, the time-consuming art of cleaning a special silk kimono brings us these pieces of a kimono after being dis-assembled into its original 10 pieces, basted together into a flat long form for proper cleaning without damaging the silk, cleaned and not yet re-sewn into another kimono.  Altogether it is about 12-1/2 yards of silk, in one long piece with white basting still intact.  

If you removed the basting you would have ten rectangles. Approximate sizes:  Four pieces 14" x 64".  Two pieces 14" x 38".  One piece 7" x 36".  Two pieces 7" x 59".  One piece 7" x 84".   Order "1" for the still basted bolt of 12.5 yards of silk.
