Hidden Red on Black, Sleek Ikat Silk from Japan By the Yard, #148

The black is soooo prominent that it nearly hides the bright red design. The closer you get, the more visible the red is, but it's never anywhere near strong or typical. The first 5 photos are a pretty good depiction of how well the black hides the red. The last 5 photos are adjusted so that you can better see the design. This silk is elegant, thin and light, shiny and sleek on both sides. It's finely woven, a bit crisp, with slight body. Both sides are just the same, and it's an ikat, so perfect and so smooth that we had to enlarge a photo (below with a triangle shaped piece of our ruler showing) until we were sure.  19.5" repeat.  14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the never-used, excellent condition bolt.
