Green Lustrous Liquid Drape Vintage Kimono Silk Crepe from Japan By the Yard #PA-17
Sprinkles of flowers and butterflies, on rich avocado-olive, hard to find green. The butterflies and flowers are light and dark teal-mint tones, two shades of pink, and green, probably dyed with yuzen rice-paste resist technique in Japan, decades ago. Probably not a chirimen type of crepe, this one is less grainy, less dry, less textured; the silk fibers are so fine and even, and the crepe texture isn't intense. This stunning silk has charmeuse-like suppleness, liquid drape and light play as it moves. It's thin, medium-light, flowy, soft, smooth, with high lustre and a bit of sheen. 14" wide and sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one piece from the vintage, beautiful condition bolt. 100% Silk. Japan. Exceptional. If you love silk, fabrics like this may be one of many reasons why.
