Red-Orange Crinkle Floral Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard #PA-12

Bright red-orange with true white, greens, coral, purples and golds. There are grape leaves and lots of types of flowers. It has fine, wavy white stripes that look like shibori, through the length. The detail in the white flowers is wonderful; fine gold lines, tiny purple spots, and of course the crinkly wavy stripes.  Dyed using the labor-intensive, difficult technique of yuzen, with rice-paste outlines, bokashi hand-dyed shading, vivid colors.  It was done with great detail and care, decades ago.  This silk may be quite old.  It's flowy and light, crinkly-textured, supple and soft, with liquid drape and a bit of sheen. 28" repeat. The back is mostly white. We see the color as a little more orange, less red than the photos. 14" wide and sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one piece from the excellent-condition vintage bolt.  100% Silk. Japan.
