Black/White/Red/Green Handwoven Vintage Silk Tsumugi Ikat, from Japan By the Yard # 837

Bright red and green stylized, mid-century modern looking flowers created in the weave, with high-contrast very slubby black and white background.  Thin and mid-lightweight with a cottony feel, no shine at all, a bit of body and no drape. It's soft and textured; a wonderful hand-feel.  A true ikat, both sides are the same. The camera was fooled by the detail in the weave, but don't worry, the charcoal color of the background is consistent and even throughout, with no darker or lighter areas.  14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the never-used, excellent condition, handwoven and most likely one of a kind, vintage bolt. Label certifies it as a true Tsumugi.  100% Silk. Japan.
