Autumn Large Flowers / Tiny Dots Print, Vintage Kimono Silk Chirimen Crepe from Japan By the Yard # 539

Created entirely from off-white dots the color of the base silk, with sage, golden pumpkin, coral, red wine, persimmon, other Fall tones between the dots which make the large, intricate, thousands-of-dots flowers. So, the colors aren't as bright as they would be without the dots. The background is raisiny brown. This supple, flowy silk chirimen has a subtle crepe weave but is also smooth, with no shine, slight body, and a bit of drape. It's mid-light weight, not as light as some kimono silks, and not as intensely textured as some chirimen. One of a kind, not much left.
