Still-Tied Bolt, Bright Crimson Red Thin Supple Drapey Kimono Lining Silk from Japan 4-5 Yards, #ZP-22
14" wide and probably 4-5 yards long, possibly a bit more, these silks were typically used, years ago, to line certain important areas of a kimono but not the whole kimono. This silk is incredibly luscious, soft and drapey, very light and supple, supple supple. It has a bit of a texture from the weave as you can see, and is not shiny but very lustrous. It's flowy and drapey, with no body at all. We haven't untied it; this is its original 'new, old' form so you'll be reaching into history. It seems to be in excellent condition but we can't tell for sure of course. The whole small bolt measures approximately 5.5" x 14.75" x .74" and weighs about 5.5 ounces. Vintage 100% Silk. Japan.
We have quite a few of these bolts to list in the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out. No two are the same.
