The first camellia is close to one end as shown in the first photo. It's large, about 12" high, hand painted/hand dyed, centered on the width. 29 inches away, the other two smaller flowers appear. Those two are about 10" high, close together. The rest of the piece is a little over 2 yards of plain rust chirimen, with liquid drape, a dry hand, classic 'bumpy rivulets' crepe texture which is fairly strong, and no shine. It's in quite good condition (excellent vintage condition) but there are a few small, light spots as shown in the photo with the chopstick. This silk is mid-weight; not flowy, lightweight typical kimono weight, so it may have been designed for haori, or a cooler weather silk kimono. The back is the same saturated rust-brown but the images aren't as intense; the color hasn't soaked all the way through. Order "1" for the whole piece. 100% Silk. Japan. Stunning.
