Misty Green Satin with Tiny Flowers Vintage Kimono Silk From Japan By the Yard #287

Blended blurry greens to creamy whites, with tiny white flowers glistening in the jacquard weave. One side is sleek, shiny classic satin. The reverse is not satin, but a more plain, not-shiny weave and has micro-tiny dots known as komon in Japan, creating the background in spiral designs among the same small flowers that appear on the other side. Both sides seem important so we assume it was woven so that you'd have that contrast, but similarity. This silk is thin, light, flowy, supple and drapey. The 'blur' may have been done with hand-dyed bokashi.  14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in a continuous piece from the excellent condition vintage bolt.  100% Silk. Japan.
