Pumpkin / Cream Sashiko-Look Checkerboard Featherweight Vintage Kimono Kasuri Ikat from Japan, By the Yard # 302
Tiny crosses, each a little different, look a bit like sashiko stitches in a grid, with larger, no-two-alike 7/8" squares about 2-1/2" apart. We believe this would technically be a fine, delicate Kasuri Ikat. The butternut -pumpkin color changes from a little lighter to darker now and then, blended beautifully, adding a lot to the geometric feel of the design. Very thin and light, soft and smooth, a bit sheer, a bit crisp, no drape, texture or shine. Sold by the full yard and we'll cut yours in a continuous piece from the vintage, excellent condition, never used bolt. 14" wide. Each yard weighs only 2 ounces which is light. 100% Silk. Japan.
