Indigo Sleet Melange, Vintage Midnight Dark Blue/Black Kimono Silk From Japan By the Yard #332

Blue and black cross woven in streaks changing color and texture, to look like indigo and black abstract sleet-like streaks. 100% silk, thin, lightweight, slubby but also rather smooth and soo soft.  Feels heavenly, almost like chamois or flannel, but thin and silky.  No sheen or crispness, and not much drape. The streaks are throughout the bolt, and we're 99% sure it's handwoven Tsumugi raw silk.  A true ikat, both sides are just the same. Beautiful gray selvedges. 14" wide and sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one piece from the excellent condition vintage, probably 1960's, bolt. Probably indigo dyed. 100% Silk. Japan.
