The black is so prominent that it nearly hides the bright red design. The closer you get, the more visible the red is, but it's never strong or 'typical'. The first 5 photos are a pretty good depiction of how well the black hides the red. The last 5 photos are adjusted so that you can better see the design. This silk is elegant, thin and light, lustrous, shiny and sleek on both sides. It's finely woven, a bit crisp, with slight body. Just like an Oshima but there are no labels. A true ikat, both sides are just the same,  14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the never-used, excellent condition bolt.  100% Silk. Japan.
