Lacy Glass buttons such as these, are Susan Clark's Czech Glass buttons that are reverse-painted in her California studio. She works in layers on the back and edge with specific colors, techniques and types of paint, in such a way that from the front, light reflects back through the color. It was a technique used in the 1800's by the Czech Republic but even by the 1900's was so labor intensive that it was rarely done even there in Czechoslovakia. Susan helped revive this lost art and her Lacy Glass buttons are the result. They are magically beautiful. Czechoslovakia/California. One of a Kind. Limited Supply.
