Remnant, Tribal Origami, Chunky Gray-Blues/Oranges Rustic Slubby Ikat Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan 14" x 1.75 Yard PIECE #144

This silk seems quite old, clearly hand-woven raw silk tsumugi, possibly home-woven, brimming with texture and soul. The background has slubs of lots of other colors including blue-gray, and the shapes are two shades of orange with blue-gray outlines, all done in the ikat weave. Thin and light, textured and slubby, with a hint of sheen, a bit of body and pretty much no drape. The condition is good, and the weaving variations add interest and an handwoven beauty.  A true ikat, both sides are just the same.  Perhaps the slubbiest silk we've had. Stunning and rustic 100% Silk. Japan.
