Kyoto Palm Springs Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk Pieces from Japan, 13" x 60" # ZP-25

Peach, red, black, off-white and a bit of ochre. This vintage kimono silk has the classic, desirable, intentional "Meisen Blur", feathered edges where the colors meet. Not a print, this is a true ikat, and both sides are just the same. It was woven with thin, fine silk. These pieces are from a dis-assembled kimono. Pure silk in great condition - we see no stains, fading, selvedge imperfections or other problems. This silk is thin and light, and a bit crisp. It's an almost sleek, quite smooth. No drape.  Being pure silk it's light: each piece weighs only 1.5 ounces.  An artisan created vintage Meisen, probably 1930's-50's.  Sold per 13" x 60" Piece. 100% Silk. Japan. Wonderful.
