14" x 54" PIECE Dark Vivid Orange-Red Textured Ikat Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan #404-Rem

Rich, deepest dark orange-red, saturated and lustrous, with a bit of shine, lots of slubs, similar to what we'd call dupioni. It's thin, midweight kimono silk with a little  body and no drape, slightly crisp. Lots of chunky slubs and texture. The pairs of yellow and orange ikat rectangles appear a few inches apart through the bolt, on some corners of the skinny green and gold gridlines.  Everything done in the weave, it's an expertly woven, difficult, intricate design. A true ikat, both sides are just the same. The color is intense, even and strong, even though the camera gets confused by all the dimension, texture and depth, and sometimes adds a look of gray to the orange-red that isn't really there. (Don't worry).  This piece is 14" wide and was cut from the bolt; it's 1.5 yards long. (It's a 14" x 54" piece). Excellent condition but not quite willing to lay perfectly flat, vintage bolt. 100% Silk from Japan. Stunning.
