REMNANT Dark Navy/White Ikat Stars/Birds Cotton Handloom from India 3/4 Yard PIECE #CHL-62

Deep navy/indigo, (so dark it often looks black)and white mid-weight cotton double ikat from India, in an overall blurred-edges, slightly rustic white stars woven design. It's about the weight of quilting cotton, about 6 ounces per 44" wide yard, but a bit organic-feeling and textured. An ongoing favorite, we hear from many of you that you love your shirts, quilts, table linens, pillows, window coverings, ponchos, jackets, dresses, scarves, pants and shorts that you've made with this cotton. 

This is a true ikat; front and back are the same, with a few variations and striations. This is the heart of the textural and color uniqueness that define the beauty of this fabric. The little stars, or birds? No two will match. This cotton is real - the makers in India are humans using traditional techniques and a lot of hand work. It's not a mass-produced, sleek, slick, perfect print from a large, sterile, modern factory.

The supplier recommends handwashing separately, no chlorine bleach, line dry. These ikats may not be colorfast at first, especially the dark ones like this, so be sure to pre-treat. If you want to machine wash or dry, test a piece first, make sure you're happy with the result, and expect shrinkage. 

100% Cotton, 41/44" wide, (each selvedge is 1.5" wide, with no white ikat) and the piece is 3/4 yards long.
