Olive-Brown Pine Needles, Seeds and Sap Print, Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard #851

Hard to find deep brownish olive-ochre color, softly blended lighter and darker, showing more or less dark golden olive. Pine needles are mostly a darker shade of the same color, but now and then a group (called a fascicle) of needles is creamy white, also printed with very fine lines, with a couple of pine seeds and some sap. Beautiful!  Supple, drapey, light, smooth and flowy silk from Japan. Smooth not textured. No body or crispness. Slight sheen. 14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the never-used, excellent condition, vintage bolt.  100% Silk. Japan. 

Pine trees are deeply symbolic in Japan; they signify longevity, good fortune and resilience.
