Full Moon Flowers, Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk Pieces, 13" x 54" from Japan # ZP-39

Giant yellow moon with jubilant flowers. This silk has Meisen's traditional, desirable blur, where the colors are woven a little bit into the adjoining color. These pieces are from a dis-assembled kimono; it's pure silk in beautiful condition.  We see no stains, fading or other problems, and the red is solid and even. Quite thin and light, and a little crisp, with no sheen; this is the somewhat cottony-feeling type of Meisen. The repeat is 27" and each piece is laid out the same: there is a full moon in about the center of the 54" length, and moons cut in about half on the piece's top and bottom. (Like the piece in the photos). An artisan created vintage treasure, probably 1930's-50's.  Lightweight; each piece weighs about 1.3 ounces. 100% Silk. Japan. Sold per piece  Exceptional.
