Leaf Nest Many Ikats Gray/Gray Vintage 'Patchwork' Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard, #142

Several grays, off-white and possibly black, combine in this intricate true ikat 'patchwork'.  Each leaf - or maybe wave? - is a different weave than the one next to it, throughout the bolt. They are various sizes and designs, and they read as a bit darker or lighter than the adjacent one, due to their different weaves. The design repeats every 26". This silk is medium-light weight, soft, thin, with a bit of body, slight drape, some slubs, and a cottony-silky feel. It's not sleek or shiny, but slightly textured. A true ikat, both sides are just the same.  It was probably hand dyed and handwoven, decades ago. 14" wide, and sold by the full yard - we'll cut yours in one piece from the never-used bolt. 100% Silk.
