Joyous Endless Chrysanthemums and Seigaiha Waves Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard #PA-14

Like a patchwork, but it's a print. Each grid is almost 2" x 2" (1-7/8", actually) with brighter-than-bright mums and wave symbols. Each image has outlining in sparkly metallic goldish-silver. We count seven full squares across the width, and the color patterns repeat after 8 squares down the length. This silk is thin and light but crisp, with body and a bit of sheen, and no drape. So many colors, so vibrant! 14" wide and sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one piece from the vintage bolt.  Possibly originally designed for a girls' kimono? We are told it's quite old, and the back is fascinating; it looks like a jacquard weave with clouds.  We haven't checked the whole bolt but we see no condition issues in the first few yards. Japan.
