Blurry Swirlies Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk Pieces from Japan, 14" x 61" #ZP-36

A party of botany, in black, red, off-white, peach and tan. This vintage kimono silk has the classic, desirable, intentional "Meisen Blur", feathered edges where the colors meet. Not a print, it's a true ikat, and both sides are just the same. These pieces are from a dis-assembled kimono. A classic Meisen Japan, it's thin and light, tightly woven, soft, quite smooth, with no drape and a bit of body.  Each piece weighs only 1.2 ounces.  An artisan created vintage Meisen, probably 1930's-50's.  Sold per 14" x 61" Piece. 100% Silk.
