Abstract with Black Tendrils Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk Piece, 14" x 61" from Japan #ZP-43

Many colors feathered together; other than the black, none are just that one color.  Red, green, grays, golds, pinks. The background is cool off-white.  A true ikat, both sides are just the same, and it has Meisen's desirable, traditional blur. Thin and light, with no sheen, it's on the sleek side and is a bit crisp. An artisan created, vintage treasure with a fantastic, joyous design, this silk is from a 1930's-50's kimono, with some weaving character and a few handwoven 'imperfections', but overall is in quite good condition.  28" repeat. Sold per 14" x 61" piece. 100% Silk. Japan.
