Re-Stocked, Red Handpainted Czech Lacy Glass Button, 1-1/8", Susan Clarke #SC-1519F

Hand-painted, bright and translucent red and sparkly gold.   1-1/8" diameter, slightly domed, and about 1/4" thick with the shank. Shank opening is around 2mm. 

Lacy Glass buttons are Czech Glass buttons that Susan has reverse-painted in layers on the back, and lighter on the edges, with specific colors, techniques and types of paint, in such a way that from the front, light reflects back through the color. It was a technique used in the 1800's by the Czech Republic but even by the 1900's was rarely done even in Czechoslovakia.  Thank you Susan, for bringing back this tradition using your own techniques, combining old and new with your endless skills and creativity, and creating each Lacy Glass art button.
