WHOLE BOLT OF OBI SILK, Silver Hexagons, Flowers with Peach, Stiff Ornate Heavy Thick Silk from Japan, 5 Yards #534
The areas that look white are actually bright silver thin metallic stripes on peach silk. The whimsically-shaped hexagons have embroidered four-petaled flowers inside, some gold and silver metallic work, and red, black and green brocade embroidery. The bolt is about 13" wide and 5 yards long. Here is how it's laid out:
The first 47" is solid peach silk. Then about 15" of silver stripes on peach. Then the first hexagon shape, for about 15". Then about 20" of silver stripes on peach, then the second hexagon for about 15". Then about 20" of silver stripes on peach. Then solid peach for about 47".
It's stiff, heavy vintage Japanese silk that had been an obi, now dis-assembled. It's in great condition structurally, but there is soiling on one of the solid peach areas, shown in the last photo. Luckily the hexagon areas are in excellent condition, even for how old it probably is and the fact that it is used. Order "1' for the bolt. 100% Vintage Silk. Japan.
