Treetop Windows, Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk Piece, 13" x 57" from Japan # ZP-37

Black, off-white, light pink, dark green, burgundy and gray... rectangles with patches of iconic Japanese patterns, and many like leaves through windows.  This silk has Meisen's traditional, desirable blur.  Both sides are just the same, and it's a true ikat, woven with thin, fine silk. This piece is from a dis-assembled kimono. Pure silk in excellent, beautiful condition; we see no stains, fading or other problems. Quite thin and light, and a little crisp. No sheen; this is the somewhat cottony-feeling type of Meisen. But being pure silk it's light, and only weighs 1.3 ounces.  One selvedge is teal, the other is gray. An artisan created vintage treasure, probably 1930's-50's. 100% Silk. Japan.
