Quietly Cosmic Camellias on Dark Indigo, Vintage Kimono Silk Ikat from Japan By the Yard #565

Dark navy-indigo background, fine ikat-created lines in orange, light blue and green. The white and gray camellias, if you look closely, all have one or two petals with miniature ikat art, with color, stripes or plaid, inside. No two flowers will be exactly the same but they are close. They alternate in color (gray or white) and are from 6-9" apart through the bolt, meandering from side to side. This is an expertly woven silk, a bit slubby, most likely plant dyed and hand woven, with very evenly dark blue indigo color.  It's thin, light, lustrous and soft, like fine dupioni, with a slight sheen and some slubs. A true ikat, back and front are just the same. 14" wide and sold by the full yard, yours will be in one piece cut from the never-used, excellent condition, possibly new-ish vintage, bolt. 100% Silk.
