Intense Dark Plum/Indigo Ombre Melted Stripes, Rustic Slubby Vintage Kimono Silk Fro Japan By the Yard #305

Deep reds and blues blended with each other and with black, similar to a 'Serape Stripe'. This silk is so soft, so full of black slubs, so dark. The reds are more blue-red, black-red, port-wine red; not towards orange at all. So slubby it almost feels like silk flannel. The thin stripes, even though they're shot with lots of black slubs, read as more perfect, more hard, with more contrast and no ombre blends. This silk is thin and light, supple, with no body at all, no shine at all. Yarn dyed, so both sides are the same. Soft soft soft. We'd say this is a weaving masterpiece done by a master weaver/artist using the finest raw, slubby silk dyed by a master. We had no dye transfer to our hands as we worked with it.(!)  15" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the never used, beautiful condition, most likely handwoven, vintage bolt.  Dark, but in person not as dark as the photos; there is actually a bit more contrast. 100% Silk.
