Forest Temple, Pink Adobe 'Antique' Kimono Silk Chirimen Crepe from Japan 13.5" x 61" #JA-07

The background is a peachy adobe clay color, similar to dusty rose but warmer, and there are abstract floating dapples in gold, creating a look of morning light perhaps.  Nature's calming beauty abounds: there are mountains, hills, rocks, ships and the sea, temples, bridges and homes, gardens and trees. We believe it is hand stenciled. The crepe texture is very pronounced and bumpy/pebbly as you can see. The silk is mid-weight, drapey and flowy, with no shine and a grainy, dry hand. On the back, the colors barely come through. These are pieces from a vintage kimono, 30+ years old, carefully taken apart and cleaned, ready for a new life.  Sold per 14" x 61" piece. Much better than the photos; it has an antique but not muddy look, the greens are fairly bright and the teal quite rich. The camera struggles with the complex textures and colors.  100% Silk. Japan.
