Bursting Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk Piece, 14" x 50" from Japan #ZP-47

Large blossoms like fireworks, in browns and taupes, black, red, white, forest, orange, neon yellow. The background is cool gray and the entire design seems painterly. It almost seems like it could be inspired by American barkcloth of the same era. An artisan created, vintage treasure, it is a true ikat, so both sides are just the same.  It has Meisen's desirable, intentional, traditional blur. One selvedge is red. Thin and light, it's a bit sleek and a bit crisp, with a slight sheen. This silk is from a 1930's-50's kimono, and is in quite good condition.  Sold per 14" x 50" piece. 100% Silk. Japan.
