Bright Chrysanthemums, Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk from Japan, One Piece "Boro" Patched, One Not, #ZP-49

The patch (this is a first for us!) is clear in the first photo. It is a 5" x 7" patch on a large 14" x 56" silk piece, sewn by hand with red thread.  The 14" x 27" piece is typical, no patch.  This listing is for BOTH pieces. 

This meisen has the traditional, desirable 'meisen blur' that makes the edges of colors seem fuzzy, from the true ikat weave. Bright true red, navy, yellow, plus gray, off-white and forest green.  Thin and light, with no sheen, it's on the sleek side and is a bit crisp. An artisan created, vintage treasure with a fantastic, joyous design, this silk is from a probably-1930's-50's kimono. There may be creases from storage and notches on edges from its former life as a kimono.  100% Silk. Japan.  Order "1" and you'll get both pieces.
