Bright Chrysanthemums, 2 Pieces Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk from Japan, One Piece Patched, #ZP-49

The patch (this is a first for us!) is clear in the photos. The kimono was damaged in one 5" x 7" area on the larger piece, and patched by hand with red thread. This meisen has the traditional, desirable 'meisen blur' that makes the edges of colors seem fuzzy, from the true ikat weave. Bright true red, navy, yellow, plus gray, off-white and forest green.  Thin and light, with no sheen, it's on the sleek side and is a bit crisp. An artisan created, vintage treasure with a fantastic, joyous design, this silk is from a probably-1930's-50's kimono. There are creases from storage and notches on edges from its former life as a kimono.  The piece with the patch is 14" x 56", the other piece is 14"x 27" and you'll get both.  100% Silk. Japan.
