Black + Ruby Abstract Vintage Kimono Silk Pieces from Japan, 14" x 45" # ZP-26

These are pieces from a decades-old, dis-assembled kimono. True black and deep true red are the only colors, and this unusual design was created with what we think is both brocade and jacquard; it's all in the weave, not a print; the reverse has the same pattern but reversed, more red than black.  Mid-lightweight, a bit drapey and it also has a little body and slight sheen. You can feel the slight texture from the intricate weave; it's not completely smooth.  Kimono silk, probably from the 1970's, in excellent condition.  Sold per 14" x 45" piece. 100% Silk. Japan. Unique, dark and dynamic.
