Running Low, Purple/Gold Czech Glass Button, 1-1/8", Hand Painted by Susan Clarke #SC-1519H
Dark purple and shiny gold, hand-painted, dimensional and translucent, 1-1/16"- 1-1/8" diameter, slightly domed, and about 1/4" thick with the shank. Shank opening is around 2mm. The gold is more vibrant, intricately detailed and glowing than the photos. Limited Supply. Exquisite.
Lacy Glass buttons are Czech Glass buttons that are reverse-painted by Susan in California, in layers on the back and edge with specific colors, techniques and types of paint, in such a way that from the front, light reflects back through the color. It was a technique used in the 1800's by the Czech Republic but even by the 1900's was rarely done even in Czechoslovakia. Susan helped revivie this art and her Lacy Glass buttons are the result. They are exceptional.
