2-Yard Piece, Dusty Mulberry Wandering Rectangles Ikat, Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan # 150

Unused lustrous vintage kimono silk in an intriguing weave with color-and-texture-play that creates rectangles that appear, go away, and re-appear depending on the angle of light. They look alot like brush strokes. There are quite a few colors in the weave, blending and separating; mauve, purples, dark burgundy, blue in nearly invisible tiny one-thread occasional turquoise stripes, red, peach, black...in some lights overall it's more pinkish and sometimes more purplish. Thin and lightweight with a bit of sheen, soft, textured, crisp, with some body.    Excellent condition, probably handwoven and one of a kind, vintage bolt. 100% Silk. Japan. A masterful ikat.  14" wide, 2 yards long, including the border shown in the last photo.  This is the last of this bolt.
