This type of Kalamkari is done with a labor intensive process, vegetable dyes and block printing and sometimes also hand painting. They are one of the more difficult types of block printing, and have a history dating back to the 1500's. This one was produced in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It has a unique visual and spiritual beauty.

45" wide and sold by the full yard; yours will be a continuous piece.

Gently hand wash in cold water with mild detergent, and avoid soaking for too long. Excess natural colors may bleed when washed for the first time. Hang to dry.
