Muddy Mauve-Gold-Ruby Textured Slubby Vintage Kimono Silk Tsumugi From Japan By the Yard #303

Slubby and soft, thin and crisp Silk Tsumugi in so many colors... black and reds, golds and rose-tones, peach and taupe, for an overall muddy mauve-washed taupe look... or depending on the light, sometimes more towards dusty rose with black, browns, reds, coppers and pale apricot? The fibers are so fine that the colors mix and become new colors; this is a complex weave.  Lightweight, very textured and slubby, and not drapey. There is a lustrous almost-shine.  Both sides are the same and it's most likely hand woven. The mauve tones are intentionally blurred, darker blending to lighter with hints of gold, with fine red and blue threads like skinny random naturally variegated stripes through the length. There are no gray, discolored or faded areas.  Beautiful condition. 100% Silk. Japan.  Bewitching, elegant, earthy, gorgeous.
