Woven with lighter and darker purples, when blended together they create a soft amethyst tone with lots of abstract skinny 'stripes' threads of slightly different colors) coming and going throughout. Every one to seven inches, there are partial rows of small, subtle embroidered-looking shapes, which alternate touching one selvedge or the other, back and forth through the bolt. Those areas are just a bit raised above the main fabric, and shinier.  This silk is quite thin and light, supple, soft, slightly textured, a bit drapey, with no body and no shine; a thin, fine cottony-like silk. 14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the never used, beautiful condition, vintage bolt. 100% Silk.
