This silk is on the heavy side for kimono silk, and also a little thicker. It's very soft, not sleek or shiny at all; classic raw silk Tsumugi, with a bit of body and slight drape. It's more smooth than slubby and has black selvdges. It's in great condition; we don't see any issues although we haven't checked every inch. Bolts like this were usually woven for a men's kimono 'ensemble' of kimono coat and long pants. It's a beautiful bolt of old indigo silk with label and border. 15.5\" wide, 21 metres or 22-23+ yards long, 100% Handwoven Tsumugi Silk from Japan.
